My Story
I’m not a classically trained artist.
In fact, my day job has nothing to do with art.
I’m a nurse in the UK, and like many people, I wanted a creative hobby that would help me slow down, relax, and create something meaningful outside of work.
I discovered acrylic painting and immediately fell in love with it.
But I also discovered something else…
Painting can feel incredibly overwhelming.
There were countless brushes, paint brands, colour mixing theories, techniques, and tutorials. Everyone seemed to know what they were doing except me.
I spent more time feeling confused than actually painting.
Why I Created Artistic Corners
I started Artistic Corners because I wanted a calm, beginner-friendly place where people can learn without feeling intimidated or overwhelmed.
A place where we can learn together, make mistakes, celebrate small wins, and enjoy the joy of creating.

My Approach to Learning
One thing you’ll notice about Artistic Corners is that I strongly believe in small studies.
Many beginners jump straight into a full pet portrait and become overwhelmed.
Instead, I prefer practising one eye, one nose, one fur patch, or one small wildlife study before tackling larger paintings.
Progress doesn’t come from painting huge masterpieces overnight. Progress comes from consistent practice.
